Being on the road alot, sometimes you do not have access to your laptop most of the time, alas the delayed postings on my personal blog. My bad.

I am trying something different eversince WordPress app is available for the Android and Windows Phone platform that I use. Guess what, I am writing this post completely on my HTC Titan running the Windows Phone 7.5 mango update. I love it, it is so simple to use, coupled with the HTC Titan massive screen for a Smartphone only expands on the experience.

Every year I will make a New Year resolution, about 30% will actually get fulfilled, the rest of the 70% gets rolled over to the following year. I believe many of us maybe in this position unless you are that top 1% whom fulfills your resolution 100% of the time. If you do, I want to congratulate you and please do share with us how you do that?

I find life is short and have created a bucket list since I was 15 years old of the key things I want to do before I go off to another life. I fulfilled most of it, but a bucket list created at 15 years old cannot be that compelling. I wanted to share this to encourage you to make your own list and keep doing so, it really helps. I do not accomplish all of them and even 30% of it this year, I am happy I got them even done.

Here are a list of how to accomplish your resolution and goal setting.

  1. Write it down – Be specific – Set a reminder around it. Review mid-year through.
  2. Make it real – It can be accomplished – I want to fly to mars……may not happen just yet. One day, but not by next year.
  3. Share with person you trust – encourage each other on.

Life is short, live it to the fullest. Wishing you a blessed New Year.

Check out the latest HTC Flyer, a big screen that is small enough to hold in your hand. It is HTC’s entry into the Tablet space. It has high specifications, high resolution screen, 1.5GHz processor, latest flash support, plus most importantly a nice battery life. From 3G to Wifi, it is a connectivity wonder. It has some very innovative ideas in the HTC Flyer. One of them is the scribe pen that you can use to write with directly unto the screen of the scribe.

I am excited to say that I have recently joined HTC Corporation in the Social Media department, as this has been my love as a “online” guy, I love how social networks like Facebook and Twitter greatly enhanced our lives, made buying choices simpler, spend less when I am deciding what to purchase or even sell. What I like is this huge community talking and sharing of ideas, aspiration and dreams. Along the way these dreams becomes a reality. As the young internet is still finding it’s ground and foothold in this world, in less than 20 years, we have seen how the power of the people are heard through the social scene.

Most recently we have seen how governments were changed, how one man’s decision or dictatorship can be removed in a matter of weeks through the move and coordination of the social network scene.

We are looking forward to where this new era will take us. For now I am at HTC, it is about our devices and products that hopes to make everyday life, a little simpler, add a little color, a smile, a warm hug and most importantly a hello on the other side of the phone.

I am in Las Vegas, Nevada in the US. It was a last minute trip as it was decided on last Friday and was here on Monday already. With such a short timing, the ticket and hotel was, ouch, expensive. I am headed out to Las Vegas on a yearly show for the “Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show”, this is a yearly show organized by The National Shooting Sports Foundation(NSSF). Started 32 years ago in 1982, yearly we see an increase of attendees. It is an amazing show where all kinds of sports hunting gear, military, law enforcement use. This year again it is held at the SANDS Expo & Convention Center.

Before departing on the trip, I had to organize my gear and carry light. Why? becasue in any trade shows, you will be collecting lots of catalogs, therefore traveling light is a good smart choice.

I carried my work phone, a Blackberry Curve, a HTC HD2, my Macbook Pro 15″, mighty mouse, Canon S90, Flip HD, two luggage bags and a backpack. Flying from Singapore to Las Vegas proofed to be a 24 hrs journey. My route starts from Singapore to Tokyo Narita stopover than to Seattle as the port of entry(with my ESTA in place, I breezed through the immigration, super great officer) than from there waited for about 4 hours before my next flight via Alaska Airlines to Las Vegas. Landed on Monday rested a day and prepared for the Show day on Tuesday.

Over here there are thousands upon thousands of people waiting and queuing to make their way into the show. There are all kinds of attendees at the show, from traders, distributors, retailers, enthusiast to operators, all flock on their yearly “mecca” towards the Shot Show to see the latest and greatest of the industry.

Looking for a handy holiday video player to capture those special moments that sometimes a digital camera is just not enough. Here are some of my personal view of a low cost solution for video cameras.

The original pocket camera, Flips this year was a little slow in coming up with something new and interesting for the market since Cisco took bought over Flip. But the Flip UltraHD(US$133.90) are still a hot pocket favorite to take those special video shots with over 8GB of storage space which equates to about 2 hrs of HD videos. Next we have the Creative Vados, Kodak Playsport and Sony Blogiie MHS-CM5 all the prices are around US$103 to 170

A pocket video camera is helpful and shoots great videos on the go.

The Kinect for Xbox has landed, which is quite point to the truth, over the weekend I saw masses of people standing infront of huge LED/LCD TVs in the local malls for roadshow of Microsoft’s latest motion sensor gaming product. People young and old jumping, hoping up and down, waving of hands…etc. It was a sight to see and all would agree, everyone seemed to be having a fun time together.

Some information from Wikipedia says,

The Kinect is a “controller-free gaming and entertainment experience” by Microsoft for the Xbox 360 video game platform, and may later be supported by PCs via Windows 8.[7] Based around a webcam-style add-on peripheral for the Xbox 360 console, it enables users to control and interact with the Xbox 360 without the need to touch a game controller through a natural user interface using gestures, spoken commands,[8] or presented objects and images. The project is aimed at broadening the Xbox 360’s audience beyond its typical gamer base.[9] Kinect competes with the Wii Remote with Wii MotionPlus and PlayStation Move

motion control systems for the Wii and PlayStation 3 home consoles, respectively.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinect

It is launched around the US and Asia in the month of November, 2010. Kinect was launched in North America on November 4, 2010, in Europe on November 10, 2010, and in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore on November 18, 2010. It will be released in Japan on November 20, 2010.

Will you be getting one for yourself soon?

(Singapore) Where I seat at my little corner at Macdonals over in Kallang, I took a quick look around, my eyes darting around the room, counting how many people have some sort of gadget with them, all this while holding my pipping hot cup of tea. Almost everyone had a mobile phone on the table, children looked too little to seat up on their own sat on their red child seat, being fed by their parents while they were glued to some mobile device, laughing away at times. Parents were chatting away occasionally take a quick look at their child to ensure that they is chewing their food.

On another table, someone was probably reading the morning news, reading an email, replying a twit or writing their latest thoughts on Facebook on their tablet device. Others was seen in a distance away talking away, some seem agitated, others were smiling away, I wonder as I sat here what their conversations would be, to see their facial expression in relation to the conversation they are probably having being played out in my mind. I smiled to myself as I made them up, even a chuckle or two, all this while still holding on to my pipping cup of hot tea.

Technology has changed the landscape of how we look at things, communicate and learn, there is an acceleration of thoughts, conversation and relationship. Some very smart people argue about how technology will destroy us and how it will lead us away from the reality of life around us, others like myself think otherwise. There is nothing in the world today that has driven man to the extinction of thoughts, life and love. There are things that man just will not be able to change. Through the span of time when man was knocking on some rock to make a wheel to the first taming of horses, the discovery of electricity and flight, man has not really changed much in our values, faith and believes. Neither will technology have a say in how many will change in our core system but except to accelerate the way we live our lives.

Technology is something we need to embrace and learn what more ways to even better what we have. We are all built to communicate and relate to one another. I see that technology will continue to expand and improve and lead us to a better future wherever that may go, that road is yet to be written…..all this while holding on to my pipping hot cup of tea.
